I Hear You, I Always Will.

My city sings to me,
“Come home baby,
Come home.
Why is it always maybe?
Come home baby,
Come home.”

I’ve been gone a mighty long time,
And I can hardly remember your face.
“Baby, it’s fine, it’s fine.”
Could I handle your pace?
“Baby, you can, with time.”
What if you’re lyin’?
“Baby, I’m not, I’m not.”
I want to believe you, I’m tryin’
But you see I retain the lessons you taught,
So I’ll never believe,
But the blame isn’t mine,
Because, you’re always out to deceive.
