My Fallen God

I saw my god fall,
Watched as he plunged from the sky,
I thought him a thousand leagues tall,
And then I watched him die.

This image spattered,
Across my young mind
His image was tattered,
And his soul I could not find.

A benevolent king,
Now turned cruel,
A Wise man who would sing,
Turned into a fool.

I was warned by my mother,
To be wary of my altar,
For the day would come,
That my brother would falter.
